Why we do what we
do? 
With our passions the
foundation for Flavours of Life was laid. Over 7
years ago, while working in the pharmaceutical industry, Marcie and
life-partner David, yearned for something more. We spent
a weekend painting a picture of what it would be like if we were
able to live out our passions.

others & their cultures

In January 2004 Marcie
started Flavours of Life.
Flavours of
Life offers you the opportunity to value the sights, sounds, tastes
& feel of other cultures whilst respecting individuals, their
culture & the environment.
What
about Our Mission?
- Flavours of Life will develop a
sustainable business through fair and transparent practices in
order to provide enduring support for disadvantaged producers and
will seek to expand fair trade throughout SE
Connecticut.
- We will serve to enhance
cross-cultural understanding and respect between North American
consumers and producer-communities throughout the developing world
through the retailing of fair trade (FT) goods sourced
from recognized FT wholesalers.
- We will promote an awareness
of history and an appreciation of culture through the provision of
art, crafts, food, and music.
- We will encourage our
customers to become involved in the improvement of both the living
conditions of producers and the global
environment.

We will adopt the principles of fairness, respect and openness
in our dealings with producers, suppliers and customers and seek
to share these business values with others through federation and
cooperation.
Where
can you meet us?
At the store
on Bank Street. We will publish our opening hours on this
website, at the store, and in our business
literature as they will slightly change during the
year. We will endeavour to always be there when we say we
will!
At fairs,
festivals, markets, & vendor days throughout SE
Connecticut. If you want to support fair trade, then please
invite us to attend on these occasions.
We will visit schools,
universities, churches and other community groups to spread the word
about Fair Trade. If you want a fair trade kiosk, goods on
consignment, to host a home or in-store party or discounted
fundraisers then contact us to
